This park is peaceful and makes a beautiful spot in an older corner of downtown Shreveport. I really enjoy the Asian Gardens. Each section is divided between cultures and marked with a red flag. There are many interesting sculptures and water features, and the plants are amazing. There are a couple pieces that are faded, worn, or seem cheap compared to other sculptures. The painted concrete birds were not impressive. The Gardens do surround a small central area surrounding the sculpture "Homage To Shreveport" by Frank Hayden, with places to sit and enjoy.
Definitely a plus for Shreveport.

On his art Frank commented," "My art does not recognize a hierarchy of ideas and materials. It simply saturates existence into a significant form. That form has been achieved through long and difficult reflection or drawn from the possibilities and concerns of the moment. In either case, the prospect of beauty is constant and is all that is needed to guide my hand and heart." Biography of Frank Hayden
